MEDIA INDONESIA - AS 10 journalists from Indonesia prepared to take part in a Citroën car test drive event which was part of the Citroën Media Paris Trip series of events on the third day, Wednesday (19/7). Stellantis as the principal of Citroën in France has provided 8 units of cars of various models, 2 units of ë-C4 (hatchback) electric cars, 1 unit of ë-C4 X, 2 units of C5 Aircross, 1 unit of C5 Aircross PHEV and 2 units of C5 XPHEV.
The route taken was very challenging from Paris to Evreux, about 150 km to the west of the French capital. The sky conditions along the way are sometimes sunny, and tend to be cloudy. Even though it's still summer, the air temperature is still cool and dry.
Media Indonesia got its first opportunity as a passenger in the Citroën C5 Aircross PHEV Shine, which promises an abundance of power of 225 hp, with the ë-EAT 8. After that we swapped cars with the Citroën ë-C4 Shine Pack with a capacity of 100 kW or the equivalent of 136 hp from a 50 kWh battery which is no stranger to Indonesia. Only the position of the steering wheel is on the left. Its cruising range is claimed to be able to reach 352 km on a single charge.
Next, we moved on to the Citroën C5 X Hybrid Shine Pack with the ë-EAT 8 producing 225 hp. Upon entering the cabin, it feels like sitting on the bench of a sportscar... flat.
The next car that we feel is the New Citroën ë-C4 X with 100 kW of pure electric power or the equivalent of 136 hp with a 50 kWh battery. This pure electric car is claimed to have a cruising range of up to 360 km. This model looks more attractive thanks to its coupe roof style which slopes backwards. Complete with panoramic roof.
After that, we switched cars to the Citroën C5 Aircross SUV Pure Tech 130 S&S EAT8 Shine. Unlike the C5 Aircross that is sold in Indonesia, the C5 Aircross that we drive is equipped with a 1.2-liter turbo engine with 130 hp and 230 Nm of torque.
As long as you feel the various models available, each one has a different sensation. There is a tantalizing acceleration sensation from the C5 Aircross PHEV and C5 X PHEV, a sports car sensation a la C5 X Hybrid. But from all of them, the 'flying carpet' driving feeling is never absent, as is the hallmark of almost all Citroën products. Whatever the condition of the road surface can be absorbed properly. Miraculously, even though the suspension feels very soft, the vehicle does not wobble when asked to maneuver at high speed.
Beautiful Views to Elite Restaurants
Along the way from Paris to Evreux, our eyes are spoiled by a variety of beautiful views. Starting from typical European buildings that have distinctive and unique architecture, cobblestone streets which are generally narrow, complete with small gardens.
Apart from the urban environment, we were treated to a view of a vast expanse of brownish-yellow wheat fields after being harvested. There is also a sunflower plantation, some of which have also been harvested.
Along the way, we are required to comply with speed limits which often change. In urban environments, speed is limited to 30 km/h. Sometimes it goes up to 40-50 km/h. Meanwhile, apart from residential areas, the permitted speed limit can reach 70-80 km/hour.
Luckily, all the models we rode had an instrument panel that actually displayed speed limit signs. If we violate or exceed the speed limit, the speed limit signs on the instrument panel will flash red and black to warn the driver not to exceed the safe limit.
We also had time to stop at a restaurant in Giverny, about 80 km from our point of departure from the Hotel Molitor, Paris. The restaurant, called Le Jardin Des Plumes, is a half-timbered 1912 Anglo-Norman style building. It is located just a few steps from the residence of the famous French painting maestro Claude Monet.
Thanks to the delicacy of the menus it serves, this restaurant has managed to get a Michelin Star as one of the recommended restaurants to visit.
After recharging energy with a series of special menus at Le Jardin Des Plumes, the group continued their journey to the Citroën Evreux Automobile dealership, about 50 km from Giverny. Citroën Evreux Automobile is the first dealer to display the new Citroën logo in the world, while representing a new, simpler global dealer design standard.
The logo, which was previously in the form of a "stacked boomerang" with chrome accents, has now changed to a black elongated circle decorated with "two double arrows" and text in a similar color.
Citroën Evreux Automobiles is also a pilot dealer selling a line up of Citroën cars for the European market such as Citroën Amy, ë-C4, Citroën ë-4X, Citroën C5 Aircross
PHEV, and Citroën C5X. In addition to sales, there are also workshop facilities for body and paint servicing and repairs.
Apart from selling and servicing Citroën cars, visitors to Citroën Evreux Automobiles can also purchase a variety of official Citroën merchandise, ranging from diecast models of various scales, t-shirts and various other accessories.
Still in one location, there is a DS dealer which is a group brand from Stellantis. On the other hand, there is Spoticar's used car sales division, which is still part of Stellantis.
